Gettysburg will have the initial museum devoted to its Black history

Not long ago,
the Hopkins House in Gettysburg – the last staying Civil War-era log cabin
that had actually been possessed by Black residents – was arranged for demolition. Instead,
many thanks to community activists, historians and fundraisers, the almost
200 -year-old structure is being maintained as a gallery. It will
become the initial museum in Gettysburg dedicated to the area’s Black history.– PennLive write-up
