Not long ago,
the Hopkins House in Gettysburg – the last staying Civil War-era log cabin
that had actually been possessed by Black residents – was arranged for demolition. Instead,
many thanks to community activists, historians and fundraisers, the almost
200 -year-old structure is being maintained as a gallery. It will
